Six Monaco athletes head for Winter Olympics
With just six days to go, six Monegasque athletes are on their way to take part in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
From 7th to 23rd February, the 22nd Olympic Winter Games take place in Sochi, Russia. In the lead-up to the event, there have been a number of controversies, including allegations of corruption, security concerns regarding terrorist attacks, and outrage over Russia's ban on homosexual propaganda.
Athletes representing Monaco are no doubt concentrating on the competition ahead, rather than the controversies. Three are Alpine skiers:
- Alexandra Coletti, Olivier Jenot and Arnaud Alessandria
and three compete in the two-man bobsleigh:
- Patrice Servelle, Sebastien Gattuso and Rudy Rinaldi
In addition, 25 year old Olivier Jenot is to carry the Monaco flag in the opening ceremony.
Good luck to all of them!
