Semi-finals on 8th September, finals on 9th September in Salle Gaston Medecin, marking the start of the 2011-2012 French handball season. The Trophee des Champions is contested between the teams topping the male D1 championship at the end of the previous season. Two matches:
- 15:00, Montpellier (1st) versus Dunkerque (5th)
- 17:15, Chambery (2nd) versus Nantes (4th)
Match times may change due to TV broadcasting.
Winning teams take part in the finals tomorrow, when losers battle for 3rd and 4th place.
