World Oceans Day 2012 at the Oceanographic Museum

Mostly French language events throughout the day aimed at youngsters, who have an opportunity to talk to researchers, question them about their work, possibilities for study and future issues. Schedule:

  • all day, 9:30-16:00, ground floor conference room
    • Les Miroirs de l'Environnement (mirrors of the environment) exhibition, discover researchers' activities in relation to the oceans through several small aquariums illustrating the stress suffered by marine ecosystems.
    • Raconte-moi ton metier! (tell me about your job), a stand providing information for potential students.
    • Olivier Jude's Tresors de la Mer Mediterranee photograph exhibition
  • 10:00-10:45, ground floor conference room
    Parlez-vous le scientifique? with Maria Betti, Director of the Laboratoires de l'Environnement, followed by Q and A session. An illustrated talk on the theme Qu'est-ce qu'un chercheur, un scientifique? (What is a researcher, a scientist?)
  • 9:45, 11:15, 13:45, 15:15, 2nd floor, western terrace, Mandine Aime la Mediterranee, 45 minute puppet show
    If the weather is bad, the show takes place in the ground floor Salon d'Honneur.

The day is organized by the International Atomic Energy Association, Monaco's Direction de l'Environnement and the Oceanographic Museum.
