Evening of film, with wine and discussion
Screening of short films by three visiting Ethiopian filmmakers, followed by a discussion moderated by special guest, actor Billy Zane.
Organized by the International Emerging Talent Film Association (IEFTA) and the Ethiopian Film Initiative as part of a week-long visit to Monaco and Cannes by three Ethiopian filmmakers. Henok Mebratu, Olisarali Olibui Tongolu and Yidnekachew Shumete Desalegn are taking the opportunity to meet distributors, sales agents, producers, directors and international film commissioners at the Cannes Film Festival. It's the second time that IEFTA has brought filmmakers from Ethiopia to Cannes, demonstrating "a growing film market and community in Ethiopia that should be taken seriously" according to IEFTA president Marc Orsini. The Monaco based association plans to expand its program of on the ground training into other parts of the developing world.
