Monaco heritage days 2011

On 15th and 16th October, Monaco opens the doors of many of its administrative buildings, normally closed to the public, and several others that charge for entry are free. Organized by the Direction des Affaires Culturelles, in participation with the European Heritage Days event.

The 2011 weekend has an environmental theme: Monaco and sustainable development: heritage for the future. On Saturday there's a day trip outside Monaco to walk from La Turbie to the Fort de la Revere on the Grand Corniche. But Sunday is the main day, when many buildings are open to the public and buses are free all day. Also, for the second time, you can pick up a questionnaire relating to Monaco's heritage from participating sites. As you learn about the Principality, you can answer the questions and submit the form at the end of the day. The best ones will be rewarded (more information +377 98 98 83 03).

For more information about Heritage Day, phone the Direction des Affaires Culturelles de Monaco on +377 98 98 83 03. You can pick up a printed guide from the Tourist office or download an official program from the event web page on the Government website at: Monaco Heritage Days. We've put together our own maBoum guide below and will be tweeting events on the day as usual. You can also use our maps while you're on the move via our mobile interface to help you find the places you want to visit. Entrance is free unless specified.
