13th edition of the eco-friendly vehicle competition
From 22nd to 25th March, organized by the Automobile Club of Monaco to coincide with Ever Monaco 2012.
The 2012 Rallye Monte Carlo des Energies Nouvelles groups together 3 automotive sporting events organized by the Automobile Club since 1995:
- 5th Monte Carlo Electric Vehicle Rally
- 2nd Fuel Cell and Hybrid Rally
- 5th Monte Carlo Alternative Energy Vehicle Rally
The changes bring the event into line with the FIA Alternative Energies Commission.
Vehicles depart from one of three points, Lugano in Switzerland, Annecy le Vieux or Clermont Ferrand in France. Teams meet in Digne les Bains for regularity tests, before rallying to Monaco, from where another four regularity tests are organized. At Monaco port, the Urban Electric Challenge takes place on Saturday, and the manoeuverability test on Sunday morning.
