Monaco Project for the Arts (MPA) summer exhibition
Each year MPA organizes "The Project" exhibition, inviting a well known artist to collaborate with students from the Ecole Superieure d'Arts Plastiques in Monaco. This year, Joana Vasconcelos presents a selection of recent work, including the "Loft" installation. Two students worked with Vasconcelos over 3 months to create several pieces for the "Fairytale" exhibition.
Vasconcelos' sculptures and installations reflect feminine sexuality, the role of women, and the consumer society. Born in 1971 in Paris, she now lives and works in Portugal.
