7th edition of event raising awareness of the environment
From 13th to 17th June, on the quayside in front of Stars n Bars. Monaco's Tourist Department (DTC) participates for the first time this year with a stall promoting sustainable tourism.
Since 2005, Monacology's aim has been to raise awareness of the environment, particularly among kids and young people. For 2011, there's a special photo exhibition by Jean Louis Teyssie, and as well as stalls, workshops and entertainment from:
- Jason Hartman concert on Tuesday 14th
- Monaco Developpement Durable (MC2D) and SMA, workshop on recycling
- Association Souffleurs d'Ecume, workshops on protecting marine mammals, REPCET anti-collision sytem, Pelagos sanctuary
- Ligue de Protection des Oiseaux
- Jardin Exotique de Monaco, workshops on re-potting plants, decorating plant pots, and herbs
- Stars n Bars' organic plat du jour
- Workshop on using recycled products for decoration
- Alexia Barrier presents her work and is organizing trips on her sailing boat (reservations, depending on weather)
- IC Engeneering is providing energy services for the event
- Venturi presents a new prototype vehicle
- Etricks demonstrate its electric VTT
- Agence Internationale a l'Energie Atomique (AIEA) workshops on chemistry
- Dominique Dimey's musical show and workshops
- Government departments Direction de l'Education Nationale and Direction de l'Environnement
- Sea Shepherd Conservation Society
- SMEG, the Institut Mediterraneen d'Etudes et du Developpement Durable (IMEDD) and 4myplanet are launching "Bio Logika and Energies", an eco-game that informs children about different types of energy
- Spencer Hodge, artist who paints animals
