2011 martial arts competition
On 4th and 5th June 2011, the Shorinji Kempo annual Taikai (convention) meets in Monaco.
Shorinji Kempo is a modern Japanese martial art with around 1.5 million practitioners. Founded in 1947 by So Doshin, the discipline combines the practice of martial arts techniques with a regard for spiritual and physical health, and high moral standards.
The Principality was chosen to host the championship by the World Shorinji Kempo Organization (WSKO). It's organized by Monaco Shorinji Kempo with the collaboration of the President of the French Federation Frank Baidet, 6th Dan, national instructor, international judge and teacher at the Monaco club. The competition is open to the public.
