Competition recitals by 12 violinists
Four of the competitors will be chosen to go through to the semi-final. Starting at 10:00, throughout the day each candidate has 50 minutes for their recital, which must include:
- a Mozart sonata for violin and piano - choice of KV nos. 454, 481, or 526
- a work by Saint Saens - choice of Rondo capricioso, Havanaise, or Etude en forme de valse op. 52
- choice of work by any 20th century composer from the competitor's country
- choice of work requiring great virtuosity
- Wieniavski's Polonaise
