74th anniversary of liberation
Monaco commemorates the 74th anniversary of its liberation in 1944 during WW2.
Wreath laying in Monaco
At 17:00 a Ceremony of Remembrance is organized at the war memorial in the cemetery. Wreaths are laid at the Monument aux Morts and on the graves of Monegasque resistance fighters, Rene Borghini and Joseph Lajoux, followed by a prayer for the dead, a bugle call, a minute's silence, a prayer for peace, and finally, the playing of national anthems by the Musique Municipale, conducted by Charles Vaudano.
Attended by Monaco dignitaries, British and Allied representatives, members of the Royal British Legion and Monaco USA Association.
Military Vehicles' Parade

At 11:20 a convoy of military jeeps, black marias and armed vehicles, with participants dressed as resistance fighters and American GIs is expected to pass through Casino Square:
- 11:30 pauses at the Maison de France on rue Grimaldi
- 12:00 climbs the Rocher to Monaco Ville
- 12:20 passes through the Place du Palais
The convoy's destination is the Mairie.
