An interactive discussion
Introduced and led by Maria Livanos Cattaui, this interactive discussion deals with the topic of the rise of populism, touching on the role played by economic uncertainty and insecurity, perceptions and reality of extreme inequality and corruption. It poses the questions of what motivates anger towards political systems and provides support for authoritarian societies.

Maria Livanos Cattaui was Secretary General of the International Chamber of Commerce from 1996 to 2005. She has worked with the World Economic Forum, and is a board member of several international organizations.
