Celebrating Italian music

From 2 to 9 October the 15th edition of week celebrating Italian language and culture, this year with the emphasis on music. Program (events in French or Italian language):

• Fri 2 Oct at Theatre des Varietes
  19:00, welcome cocktail
  20:00, conference and performance on the theme Le Conte de la Chanson Italienne, attended by journalists Ernesto Assante and Gino Castaldo, singer Roberta Giallo and violinist Valentino Corvino
• Mon 5 Oct, 18h30 at Scripta Manent bookshop, conference and concert on I Castrati et l'Excellence de la Musique Baroque, attended by editor and producer Liana Marabini, and singer Christophe Carre, followed by a tasting of 17th century Italian dishes
• Tue 6 Oct, 20:30 at Carmes Chapel, sacred music concert, l'Art du Bel Canto italien au XIXe Siecle, with tenor Massimo La Guardia
• Wed 7 Oct, 19:30 at Zelo's, informal meeting of the delegation of the Academie Italienne de la Cuisine, with a concert Ho Sognato di Volare, songs by Domenico Modugno performed by Andrea Sbriccoli Fontana and his group
• Thu 8 Oct, 18:30 at Theatre des Varietes, conference and concert Le Siecle des Lumieres et des Mysteres with art historian Philippe Daverio and the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra, followed by a cocktail
• Fri 9 Oct at Oceanographic Museum
  19:30, welcome cocktail
  20:00, closing conference and concert l'Opera et la Langue Italienne, le Grand Age du Melodrame, with soprano Angela Papale and pianist Fabio Marra
