Summer school session 2

A morning lecture and discussion by Tina Waldeier Bizzarro, followed by a collaborative workshop in the afternoon led by Susan Kelly Vonmedicus. Part of the American Ireland Fund Summer School on the History of Irish Book Illumination of the Golden Age.

  • 11:00-12:00, tracing the Irish path through book illumination, in the Book of Durrow
  • 13:30-16:30, Initium Versal, students make a decorated versal monogram on paper, based on the Initium from the Durham fragment

The session is free of charge, however only 10 places are available, so reservation is necessary. No previous experience or artistic talent is necessary for the artistic workshops.
