Summer school session 4
A morning lecture and discussion by Tina Waldeier Bizzarro, followed by a collaborative workshop in the afternoon led by Susan Kelly Vonmedicus. Part of the American Ireland Fund Summer School on the History of Irish Book Illumination of the Golden Age.
- 11:00-12:00, the mixture of traditions in the Book of Lindisfarne
- 13:30-16:30, the use of runic capitals, students make a design, decorated with rubrication and colour block fills based on those found in the Lindisfarne Gospel
The session is free of charge, however only 10 places are available, so reservation is necessary. No previous experience or artistic talent is necessary for the artistic workshops.
