Fund raising concert
A gala concert of movie music performed by the Orchestre des Carabiniers du Prince (OCP). The evening aims to raise funds for the Rocher du Coeur charity for sick children.
- tickets 25 euros, available from Fnac, Carrefour and usual outlets
- under 12s free
- un-numbered seats
To give the impression of a movie theatre performance, orchestra members are arranged around the conductor, each musician with a personal lamp. As the music plays, a giant screen broadcasts images of the relevant film, such as Amelie Poulain, Rocky, Star Wars and James Bond. In addition, there is a tribute to Princess Grace through the music from High Noon.
The orchestra is joined on stage by the Petits Chanteurs de Monaco, Francis Lalanne and the trio Lib Day Darlings. There is also a special guest performance by composer and pianist Jerome Lemonnier, nominated for a Cesar in 2007 for La Tourneuse de Pages.
During the evening there is a quiz on the music of television series.
At the end of the performance, 60 artists take to the stage for a musical moment dedicated to Amour avec un grand A (love with a capital L).
All funds raised from the concert are to be donated to Le Rocher du Coeur, the Monegasque arm of the Louis Carlesimo Association. Founded in 2013 by two Carabiniers, the current president of the association is Brigadier Bernard Boucher. For more information about the charity, visit its website at: Rocher du Coeur.
