3rd edition of awareness raising day
From 10:00 to 17:00, the Rencontre Monegasque du Handicap is an event related to the United Nations International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is normally marked on 3 Dec. This year's theme is theme is "Rassemblons-nous autour du handicap" (let's come together for disability), and organizers aim to develop better understanding between the disabled and non-disabled, bring together all interested parties and promote actions that will make life better for those affected by disability.
Throughout the day there are a number of entertaining and educational activities, including:
- country dancing organized by the Monaco Mayflower Country Dancing Wheelchair Association
- theatre production by the Florestan Company
- discussions on subjects linked to disability
The event is attended by associations, social services and private organizations.
Organized by the Pole Handicap of the Direction de l'Action Sanitaire et Sociale, under the Departement des Affaires Sociales et de la Sante.
