American Ireland Fund summer school

From 21st to 25th July, a summer school focusing on the history of Irish book illumination of 7th to 9th century, with daily lectures and workshops, led by Tina Waldeier Bizzarro and Susan vonMedicus.

  • 11:00-12:00, lectures
  • 13:30-16:30, workshops
  • free of charge
  • 10 places only per day
  • reservation necessary

Each session focuses on an aspect of Irish manuscript illustration, and students create an artwork using traditional, authentic Irish materials and methods. No previous experience or artistic talent is necessary.

The summer school follows an illustrated talk and demonstration about the subject on 15th July.
