10th edition of environment event
From 10th to 13th June, Monacology and the Monegasque environmental awareness week 2014 take place on the quayside opposite Stars n Bars. In addition to the Monacology Village of wooden chalets, this year the event has more to offer, in celebration of its 10th anniversary. Around 30 participants welcome local children with workshops and activities to raise awareness about the environment and biodiversity, and explaining what is being done to protect the environment, recycle rubbish, and manage food waste. Longer opening hours are in place to attract parents as well as children, every evening from 17:00 to 19:00. Free entry, opening hours:
- 8:00-11:30, school visits
- 11:30-13:30, open to public
- 13:30-16:30, school visits
- 16:30-19:00, open to public
This year Monacology is supporting Cestmed's Tag Your Turtle project, which aims to release tagged turtles into the sea, so that the Centre d'Etude et de Sauvegarde des Tortues Marines de Mediterranee can follow them and study their habits so as to better protect them.
