Annual religious Easter procession

The Procession du Christ Mort around the Rocher is said to have been established by pilgrims in the 13th century. By the 19th century, inhabitants from all along the Ligurian Coast made their way to Monaco, to take part in the annual procession, which also involved a performance of the Mystery of the Passion. This was abolished in 1868, but the procession itself remains a popular proclamation of faith for Monegasques.

Organized by the Confrerie des Penitents de la Misericorde.
