French artist Julien Bayle is a sound and visual artist who experiments with the concept of control versus chaos. Drawing on Richard Arschwager's "blp" idea as a sudden burst of information within various landscapes, which Bayle translates into a sudden, electronic sound. His Disruption performance explores this notion of disturbance through a succession of digitally generated, evolving sequences, which reflect how a deterministic system can develop into something unpredictable.
Located in the News of the World space in London, the Disruption installation is triggered through the internet, by the start of the live performance in Monaco. As Bayle feeds data into the system, it is corrupted by audience interaction through social networks. At the end of the performance in Monaco, the installation in London is launched, and public interraction in situ or via Twitter, continues to disrupt it. Each hashtag #blpmc generates new sounds and visions.
