83rd edition of international police organization

From 3rd to 7th November, the Interpol General Assembly meets to make decisions on general policy, resources, working methods, finances and activity programs. Composed of delegates appointed by the governments of member countries, the General Assembly meets once a year.

2014 is a special year for Monaco in relation to hosting the Interpol General Assembly. It marks 100 years since the first International Criminal Police Congress was held, also in Monaco. Police officers, lawyers and magistrates from 14 countries were welcomed by Prince Albert 1er in 1914 to discuss arrest procedures, identification techniques, centralized international criminal records and extradition proceedings.
