Illuminations marking start of Christmas season
From 22nd November to 5th January, trees, garlands and lights illuminate Monaco streets for Christmas and New Year.

A separate lighting ceremony takes place at the beginning of December for Monte Carlo SBM's Casino Square Christmas illuminations.
Installation of the lights begins mid-October and is shared by three enterprises: electricians employed by the Mairie, Groupe Leblanc, and Blachere Illumination. Electricity consumption is kept to a minimum by the use of LED lights for all the Mairie's Christmas decorations.
Fontvieille district retains its lights until the beginning of February for the International Circus Festival and the Next Generation Circus Festival.
