18th Monaco Heritage Day
On 21st and 22nd September, this year's Journee du Patrimoine de Monaco takes as its theme Monaco Terre Des Arts, celebrating the rich diversity of the Principality's artistic heritage. Several places that have links to artists and their work are open to the public for the first time.
As in previous years, the event begins on Saturday with a trip outside Monaco, this year to Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and Cagnes sur Mer. Sunday is the main day, when Monaco opens the doors of administrative buildings, museums and places of interest to the public. Buses are normally free all day.
Here's maBoum's guide to what's on during the Journee du Patrimoine. Entry is free unless specified, guided tours are in French, and registration is from 16th to 20th September during working hours. For more detailed information, download an official program from the event website: Journee Patrimoine Monaco.

Cadavre exquis
During the day, visitors are encouraged to participate in creating a literary or graphic work of art following the lines of a cadavre exquis (exquisite corpse). The expression relates to a game used by surrealist artists whereby several people compose a phrase or drawing, similar to the game Consequences. Rules will be explained on the day, from 10:00 to 18:00 at the Musee de la Chapelle de la Visitation and the Top Cars Collection. More information from the Direction des Affaires Culturelles on +377 98 98 83 03 and visit the Wikipedia page Exquisite Corpse.
