A dinner and debate on the theme of Les CIVET - Mutations Economiques et Nouveaux Defis pour ces Pays Emergents (CIVET countries, economic changes and new challenges for these emerging countries). Led by guest speaker Ludovic Subran, chief economist with Euler Hermes and commentator on the economic TV channel BFM.

The CIVET countries are Columbia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Egypt and Turkey, which are all currently attracting investment. Their economies are expected grow annually at 5% over the next 20 years, with similar characteristics:

  • an emerging middle classe that supports internal market growth
  • a diversified economy, not reliant raw material exports
  • large foreign exchange reserves and inflation under control
  • more or less stable interior political situation
