Remembering those who have died in armed conflict
Commemorating the 1918 armistice, some events take place on Sunday 10th November, and the Monaco ceremony takes place on Monday 11th November.
Sunday 10th November
- 10:30, wreath laying at Churchill statue, avenue de Grande Bretagne
- followed by remembrance service and family communion at St Paul's Anglican Church Monaco
Monday 11th November
At 11 am at the Monument aux Morts in the cemetery, a memorial ceremony honouring the those who have lost their lives in armed conflict:
- wreath laying
- prayers for the dead
- bugle/trumpet call for the dead
- minute's silence
- prayer for peace
- national anthems, played by the Musique Municipale
The mayor invites leaders and members of national associations and of the Resistance to attend the commemoration.
11th November is a public holiday in France, but not in Monaco.
