Competition for international artists
Applications are now closed for Monaco's 4th Open des Artistes competition that this year has accepted entries from international artists. Chinese artist Yan Pei-Ming is this year's sponsor and the theme is Le Temps Sous Toutes Declinaisons: Atmospherique, Spatiale, Metaphysique (time in all its meanings: atmospheric, spatial and metaphisical).
Following the 16th September closing date, 130 artists from 11 countries are taking part, 86 from France, 27 from Monaco, 7 from Italy, 2 from Romania, and 1 each from Belgium, Britain, Greece, Russia, Tunisia and Venezuela.
Competition schedule 2014
- 6th January, closing date for submitting a photograph of the work the artist intends to enter in the competition
- 6th to 12th January, work must be deposited at l'Entrepot
- 13th to 26th January, virtual exhibition on the organizer's website: Galerie l'Entrepot. Members of the public can vote for their favourite works, and the 3 with the most votes are automatically entered into the jury selection and exhibition.
- February, exhibition at the Galerie de l'Entrepot of the final selection of works, to be judged by a jury of professionals. Prizes will be announced during this time.
Prize winners' work is used on the Monaco Telecom telephone directories: Prix du Public on the White Pages, Prix de l'Open on the Yellow Pages, and Prix Monaco Telecom for best photograph on the Annuaire Collector. - 5th February, from 18:30, opening expo (vernissage) of selected work of finalists
- 5th March, closing party and announcement of prize winners
- December, the winner of the Prix du Jury has a personal exhibition of work at the Galerie l'Entrepot.
