Classic car parade and competition
UPDATE: the Automobile Club of Monaco has had to postpone the concours d'elegance for reasons beyond its control.
From 27th to 29th June, an elegant automobile competition with around 50 participants, including pre-WW2 cars (1930-1940), post-WW2 (1950-1960), and present day concept cars that use different methods of propulsion. Program:
- 27th June, welcome at Hotel de Paris
- 28th June, day trip with lunch stop in hills, around Col de Turini and Col de Vence
- 29th June, Place du Palais, car exhibition and judging, followed by a gala dinner in the Palace
During the 3 day event, the cars will parade around the streets of Monaco.
The Concours d'Elegance was at one time part of the Monte Carlo Rally for Classic Vehicles, of which the 13th and final edition took place in September 2001. It is now reinstated as the Elegant Automobile Competition, and is similar to the international competitions held at Pebble Beach California and Villa d'Este Italy. Taking the form of a classic car weekend, the event showcases beautiful cars.
