Talk by Prof. Rionach ui Ogain
Prof. Rionach ui Ogain is Director of the National Folklore Collection, University College Dublin and the Ireland Fund of Monaco Academic in Residence at the Princess Grace Irish Library. She has published and lectured widely on traditional Irish music and folklore. During the evening her talk is illustrated using sources from the National Folklore Collection at University College Dublin. The lecture covers tales of heroes, accounts of the Otherworld and fairy belief, and presents Irish storytellers and excerpts of tales.
Following the talk, Professor ui Ogain is available to sign copies of her book The Otherworld: Music and Song from the Irish Tradition, which is available to buy for 20 euros, cash only.
