Stopover for exploration vessel
Scientific research boat Tara's visit to Monaco before its next expedition to the Arctic has been canceled. It will now remain in Lorient from 3rd to 16th March.
The vessel was scheduled to leave Paris on 5th February, but was delayed due to high water in the Seine. Tara calls in to Le Havre and Lorient before reaching Monaco, then visits several other ports in France before setting off in May for the Arctic. Weather permitting, the voyage is scheduled to take 6 months, during which scientists hope to study the polar marine ecosystem.
