Collection of military artifacts.
If you were lucky enough to be in Monaco during Heritage Day, you would have had a chance to visit several places not normally open to the public. One of these was the Museum of the Princes and their Guards, located in the barracks of the Prince's carabiniers. It contains many uniforms and equipment that belonged to Monaco's Princes, from Honore V to Albert II. There are several interesting historical artifacts, such as the sabre carried by the first captain of the carabiniers at the Battle of Waterloo. Also on display is a more modern sailor's uniform that was worn by Prince Albert II as a little boy. We hope it's open again for next year's Heritage Day, but you could always try phoning for a private visit.
