Monaco marathon 2010 canceled

Clash with French local elections.

This year's Marathon of Monaco and the Rivieras has had to be canceled. It was due to take place on 21st March, but because the date clashes with French local elections, the race can't go ahead as planned. The route normally takes in 3 countries, starting in Monaco, heading through Roquebrune and Menton in France, to Ventimiglia in Italy, then back to Monaco. Unfortunately, the Federation Monegasque d'Athletisme, which organizes the event, has been unable to find an alternative date, and so the marathon will be replaced with a half-marathon within the boundaries of the Principality. It will start at 9:00, the same time as the Monte Carlo 10km event. For more information, visit the Monaco Marathon website.
