Plans to refurbish the Condamine Market are progressing. There's been talk about improvements for at least 2 years, and it seems that work may finally start in 2009. The market is located on the port side of Place d'Armes, under the shadow of the Rock.
Fruit, vegetable and flower stalls can be found on the square, and regional food producers inside the market hall. Technical studies of the building started last month and will allow more precise project plans to be developed. These will include the construction of 2 mezzanines, the installation of a shop selling organic food, and several changes to the Place d'Armes square itself to provide a more pleasant spot to sit throughout the day.
