Circus comes to town

The 33rd Monte Carlo International Circus Festival, opens tomorrow when the Principality will welcome 200 artists competing for the coveted Golden Clown award.

Besides the shows in the Fontvieille Circus Tent every night, there are lots of other circus theme events throughout Monaco. There's an exhibition of paintings by Fernando Botero in the Villa Sauber, and by Pierre Assemat in the Princess Grace Theatre. For just two days only the Rainier III Auditorium will host a commercial exhibition of circus material, along with photographs by Monegasque Sebastien Darrasse. Finally, as you wander around town, check the shop windows. The Union des Commercants et Artisans de Monaco (UCAM) are organising a competition for the 3rd year running for the best circus theme display.

There are performances every day from tomorrow to 25 January, transforming the Principality into "The Greatest Show on Earth"!
