London 2012 event needs Monegasque bard
The BBC website reported this weekend that no Monaco poet could be found to take part in the London 2012 Poetry Parnassus. Here at maBoum, we can't believe that there's no-one resident in Monaco with the necessary literary skill. So please, if you know of someone, tell them about the event.
If we can't find a professional, Mrs maBoum has offered to submit the following few stanzas, with apologies to Marriott Edgar:
There's a famous seaside place called Monaco
That's noted for fresh air and fun
And Mr and Mrs Grimaldi
Lived there with Prince Albert their sonA very smart man was young Albert
All dressed in his best, quite a swell
But his subjects, much praised for their glamour
Weren't known for their literary skillSo seeking for more acclamation
A message was sent far and wide
To find a new Monegasque poet
Who'd swell Albert's heart with great pride
