How do I love thee? (1)

The daffodils are out, March has arrived, and spring is around the corner.

What's new?

If weather forecasters are to be believed, we'll be enjoying the warm sunshine outdoors this weekend. Indoors there's art on show at the 2014 edition of the Rencontre Artistique Monaco Japon, and for International Women's Day on Saturday, a special champagne menu is available at the newly re-opened, recently starred Elsa restaurant. After enjoying a day dedicated to female achievements, Monaco based women with entrepreneurial qualities are encouraged to put themselves forward for one of several Trophees des Femmes d'Economie.

We heard talk this week about plans to make shopping in Monaco more attractive. Nothing has been finalized, but the Government is considering creating several areas, each with a different type of retail offering, as well as increasing the number of big brand names. In the Conseil National, a suggestion was put forward that if a commercial district stretching from Boulingrins Gardens to Place des Moulins were to be developed, the Tourist Office might have to move. Visiting tourists needn't worry yet, unless they are planning to visit Monaco le Film, the 26 year old attraction that announced its closure this week.

Finally, Green Cafe (see 20 Feb newsletter) has opened and is trading as Ici Salad Bar, and the name of the restaurant that's replacing L'F Monaco (see 16 Jan newsletter) has been announced and already has a facebook page called Jack Monaco.

What's in the diary ....

Thursday: Chablis tasting.
Friday: Girls are gonna have fun.
Saturday: Ice skating and football.
Sunday: Movie action, war, drama and crime.

Coming up next week, social mixer, cocktail mixing, and a historic mixture of Irish and France.
