The sun rises on a new year in Monaco

It's the last day of 2009, and for those of you who still haven't decided what to do, our New Year's Eve listing has plenty of dinner and party ideas. We've also put together a list of restaurants serving lunch on New Year's Day, if you're still standing.

Once the New Year celebrations have finished, don't think you've got time to sit back and relax, because there are plenty of things happening in Monaco. The Ballets de Monte Carlo are putting on three performances this week, and for music lovers, Moods comes up trumps with gypsy jazz on Tuesday, and soul/funk on Wednesday. Movie goers have just one current release English language film this week, but there's also a showing of the 1958 Wind Across the Everglades as part of the Cinema Tuesday season.
