Lost weekend (1)

Did you cast a vote in the Open des Artistes? You'll have to wait until Monday to see if your favourite made the finals.
What's new?
There's a treat in store for tennis fans this weekend, with Monaco and Belarus facing off in the first round of the Davis Cup. Two other sporting competitions are taking place, as Friday sees the end of the Historic Monte Carlo Rally, and the first weekend of the Primo Cup Credit Suisse Trophy regatta.
Food and drink are on the event calendar at the Meridien, which has a packed program of Thursday cooking and wine tasting classes up to June in the Intempo restaurant. We've also seen the arrival of two "chefs" this week, one feeding our stomachs and the other playing sweet music. Fairmont Monte Carlo announced the appointment of ex-Master Chef contestant Claire Verneil in the position of pastry chef, and Gianluigi Gelmetti accepted the leadership of Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra.
