Happy Thanksgiving to all our American pals. Hope you enjoy your turkey lunch or dinner!
What's new?
As McCarthy's future remains uncertain, the team at Cremaillere has stepped up to the oche to provide some pub entertainment with a darts board. For a taste of Britain, Virage has introduced fish and chips to its menu, a dish enjoyed with gusto by Mr maBoum when we visited last week. There was even a refined portion of mushy peas.
Meridien Beach Plaza has introduced a happy hour every evening from 18:00 to 20:00, when you can buy two of the same drinks for the price of one. On Thursdays there's fresh tapas and a DJ too. We also hear that the restaurant is catering to busy Monaco workers with a business lunch menu. Details to be announced.
This week the Grimaldi Forum confirmed the dates for its Picasso summer 2013 exhibition, and three prelude concerts to next year's Printemps des Arts have been organized, with music by Beethoven, Manoury, and Bartok.
What's in the diary...
Thursday: British cocktail and British Christmas.
Friday: celebrating Scotland, St Andrew and whisky.
Saturday: swash-buckling at Stade Louis II.
Sunday: Monte Carlo Gastronomie.
Coming up next week, working lunch, Russian gastronomy, and a musical toy box.
For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
(1) This week's quote is from the English novel Middlemarch, written by Mary Ann Evans, aka George Eliot, born this day 1819. The line continues ".... except what women know better."
