Look Around You (1)

It's time to get your winter wardrobe out, as the weather's taken a turn for the worse this week.

What's new?

Monaco's new multi-media library may not yet have a home, but that isn't delaying improvements to the service. Plans are afoot for the Mediatheque to introduce a single library card that allows users to borrow from all 3 libraries, Louis Notari (books), Jose Notari (CDs and records), and video library. A new website is also planned.

We're coming up to 11th November, a time when we remember all those who are, or have been, involved in armed conflict. As usual, the Royal British Legion is raising money for current and ex-servicemen, women and their families. Visit the website for a list of places in Monaco selling poppies.

What's in the diary...

Thursday: Fun for all the family.
Friday: Jazz in the library.
Saturday: Ballets in the opera house.
Sunday: France's big day.

Coming up next week, Danes get angry, kids get time off.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.

(1) This week's quote is a translation of the text on the grave of Sir Christopher Wren, born this day 1632. Wren is buried in his greatest work, Saint Paul's Cathedral, where visitors are told "Reader, if you seek his monument - look around you."
