Happy New Year and welcome to the first newsletter of 2014.

What's new?

We hope you had as fabulous a break as we did here at maBoum. Thanks to you all for your support and kind wishes, thanks to Monaco Mairie for the lovely gift, and thanks to the teams at Cap Estel, Bodeguita, Fredy's Dauphin Vert, Monte Carlo Bar, and La Provence for making our celebrations so enjoyable. Now the holidays are at an end and we're ready to get back to work.

If you've got money burning a hole in your pocket, you can start spending today in the Principality, where sales have started a week before those of neighbouring France on 8th January. Take a break from your shopping in Fontvieille and help someone less fortunate with a coffee at En-K or Barbagiuan. The two cafes are involved in a scheme called Cafe Suspendu, where you pay for two coffees, receive one, and the price of the second is given to a worthy recipient.

As schools start again on Monday, this weekend is your last chance to visit the Christmas village, and to take advantage of the kids' events and family entry price at the Oceanographic Museum. There's still one seasonal tradition to enjoy until the end of January, and that's to savour a Galette des Rois. The traditional marzipan and pastry delicacy is available from most patissiers in different sizes, including one created for the Meridien Beach Plaza by the hotel's chef patissier Julien Beaulieu. You can buy one for 30 euros that serves 8, or an individual portion for 6 euros, by phoning +377 93 15 78 88.
