Enjoy your day off for Fete Dieu today!

What's new?
There's so much happening over the next few days that it's difficult to know where to start. Tomorrow is the official opening of the new Yacht Club, with several water-based activities celebrating life on the ocean waves. It's also the first night at Monaco Open Air Cinema, which is not only screening movies throughout the summer, but also some of the World Cup matches. Saturday is the annual Fete de la Musique, with headline act Les Tambours du Bronx performing at the port. Then next Tuesday MonacoUSA is planning a visit to the guide dog training centre, to find out what a clever canine must do to become the companion of someone with little or no sight.
At the beginning of July, you can discover what a professional photographic lab can do to improve your images, whilst also visiting an exhibition of work by Canadian artist Dawn Dudek. Princess Grace Theatre and the Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra both announced their 2014-2015 seasons earlier this week, and the programs will be available shortly on maBoum. Looking even further ahead, Marianne Faithfull is scheduled to perform at the Salle Garnier in December, as part of her world tour.
Finally, workmen have been spotted at Ni Hotel, which enjoyed brief popularity here at maBoum due to its rooftop bar and live music nights.  The establishment has been closed since 2011.

What's in the diary ....
Thursday: Italian apero & wine tasting.
Friday: Lunch with Martin Bell.
Saturday: Boxing bonanza.
Sunday: Little singers, big voices.
Coming up next week, 2-location festival, rosy musical cocktail, and a Bad Day at Black Rock.
For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
(1) This week's quote is attributed to Wallis Simpson, born this day 1896. The Duchess of Windsor, who married the abdicated King Edward VIII, is supposed to have said that one can never be too rich or too thin.
