What's new

The coronavirus pandemic has had a significant effect on many businesses, Monte Carlo SBM included. Table gaming, slot machines, hotel bookings and restaurants have all seen a drop in takings. Only property rentals have gone up, by just 7%. The question now is, what will happen to Jimmy'z? The venue's has been closed since lockdown in March, along with the Salle des Etoiles, Omer restaurant, Sun Casino and Monte Carlo Bay slot machines. Contrary to the rumours tho', no changes are planned at the Hermitage Hotel.

If you want to help SBM out, we can recommend lunch at Le Grill restaurant on a sunny day for the 1-star cuisine and the lovely view. The Vistamar restaurant's bistro chic lunch menu is also good, and if you haven't already done it, you could take a tour of Monte Carlo Casino too. It's a snip at 17 euros and you get an audio commentary in your chosen language. We visited in September and spent almost two hours wandering from room to room. Arrive at 10am and you'll have the place to yourself.

And finally, the Nouveau Musee National de Monaco is looking for the tallest woman in Monaco. If you're over 1.85m tall (6 feet), and would like to take part in an artistic project relating to the upcoming exhibition at Villa Paloma, email contact[at]nmnm.mc. Enjoy!

What's in the diary ....

Stay safe and enjoy your weekend.
