We finally saw Skyfall this week and really enjoyed it. You can still see the new Bond movie in Monaco at the Sporting Cinema until Tuesday.

What's new?

This weekend we remember all those who've lost their lives in armed conflict. Sunday is Remembrance Day and there's a memorial service at St Paul's Church, as well as the ceremony at the Monument aux Morts in the cemetery. For an alternative view of the First World War, this evening there's a talk about Irish artists who captured images at the front.

Monaco's National Day celebrations have been scheduled and include entertainment for kids, as well as gala evenings for the adults. Invitations are available from the Mairie from today, on presentation of your Carte de Sejour.

What's in the diary...

Thursday: Library cine club.
Friday: Shopping frenzy in Fontvieille.
Saturday: Hallelujah for Handel.
Sunday: Music of duelling lovers.

Coming up next week, Chinese chow at Cosmo, prodigy's piano recital, and string octet.
