Maximum luxury, minimal ostentation (1)

We finally got round to visiting Stars n Bars 1st floor Stardeck this week. What a great place for an apero. The space is less cluttered, and the fancy mechanisms for opening up the windows all along the wall make a cool terrace and view over the Port.

What's new?

Black Legend has a new menu, which you can consult on the restaurant's website if you manage to align your mouse with the moving Flash images. Sushi and steak feature heavily, with main courses ranging from 25 to 35 euros. Montgolfiere also released its June menu, which is still priced at 39 euros for 3 courses. Mrs maBoum particularly likes the sound of calamars du pays a la plancha (squid), and New York cheese cake for dessert. Yummy.
If you're looking for things to do, rather than to eat, Stars n Bars is putting on live music every Thursday throughout June. Coming up next week is the Monte Carlo Television Festival, with plenty of celebrity spotting opportunities. And finally, many of you will be planning a summer journey to see friends and relatives. If you need ideas for gifts, try Monte Carlo SBM's new boutique in the Sporting d'Hiver, with lots of Monte Carlo branded articles.

What's in the diary...

Thursday: 4 got out of jail, free.
Friday: World Oceans Day.
Saturday: a taste of Japan.
Sunday: Modern Times.

Coming up next week, Monacology and master pianists.

For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.

All the best from Lyd & Doug
