Schools break up for the Easter holidays this weekend. Let's hope that travel from Monaco is not as chaotic as it seemed to be when the British schools closed last weekend.
We were bitterly disappointed last Saturday after the General Elektriks concert was canceled at short notice. If you'd bought a ticket, you should be able to get a refund from the ticket-seller, but that might be little consolation. We last saw Herve Salter at the 2018 Nice Jazz Festival, and you can check out the band's YouTube video recorded at Paris Trianon last year.
This evening Monte Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra is donating the takings from its concert to the Red Cross's support for Ukraine. Note however that the orchestra's 9 June concert, which was to have featured Russian pianist Boris Berezovsky has been cancelled. Ticket-holders can obtain a refund, or donate the money to the Red Cross. On 25 June, Berezovsky will be replaced by Ivo Kahanek. Contact +377 98 06 28 28, or atrium[at]opmc.mc.
The Institut Audiovisuel's Tout l'Art du Cinema season is moving down the coast to Beaulieu on Sunday afternoon. Stanley Kubrick's 1957 movie, The Paths of Glory, is being screened in Cinema de Beaulieu at 15:00. Contact +33 4 93 87 84 38, or infos[at]cinemadebeaulieu.fr.
In the other direction, there's an exhibition until end of October in the Hangar Cap Moderne (at Roquebrune railway station) about the restoration of the Eileen Gray E1027 villa. Entry is free, 9:30 to 17:00. +33 6 48 72 90 53.
