What a pleasure to return from our travels this week to a warm and sunny Principality.

What's new?

Prize winning musicians and entrepreneurs are in Monaco this weekend. The jury of Monte Carlo Violin Masters chooses a competition winner on Saturday evening, whilst Ernst & Young's Entrepreneurs of the Year celebrate at a black tie gala.

Saturday is also World Oceans Day, when there are three appropriately water based events taking place. The Oceanographic Museum launches its shark exhibition, Stade Louis II hosts the annual Mare Nostrum swimming meeting, and Monaco's bankers compete in their annual sailing challenge for the ERI Trophy.

On the food and drink scene, Metropole Monte Carlo officially opens its Karl Lagerfeld designed Odyssey restaurant. And finally, a mention for Bella Vita restaurant, previously known as Au Royalty. We popped in for an aperitif the other Tuesday evening and it was buzzing with life, friendly Italian service, and happy hour prices up to 20:00.

What's in the diary...

Thursday: James Bond's car passes through.
Friday: 8 seasons in music.
Saturday: Remi Vignolo plays jazz.
Sunday: TV Festival comes to town.

Coming up next week, Monacology, celebrating Leo Ferre and classic Grace Kelly.
