April's arrived, and with it the cruise ships and their passengers.

What's new?

This week the Government launched a major survey of residents, workers and visitors, to find out how people travel into, out of, and within the Principality. Look out for interviewers at the railway station and major bus stops today.

On the events calender, Printemps des Arts reaches its 4th weekend and celebrates its 30th anniversary with a gala. Entrepreneurs are invited to sign up for the Jeune Chambre Economique's business workshops, and combine business with leisure by taking part in the TEAM sports competition for organizations based in Monaco.

Finally, last week Monaco chefs launched their Artisan du Gout charter (see 6 Feb 2014 newsletter), a voluntary accreditation scheme for all types of restaurant in the Principality. The first applications have already been submitted, and plaques will be awarded soon. Standards seem to be primarily concerned with food products and preparation, in contrast to the official diamond scheme.

(1) This week's quote is the part title of the signature song of American singer and actress, Doris Day, born this day 1922. Que Sera, Sera (Whatever Will Be, Will Be) was introduced in the Hitchcock film The Man Who Knew Too Much, and was the theme song for The Doris Day Show.
