Gentlemen prefer blondes (1)
If you've been missing your regular fix of American burgers, you'll be glad to hear Stars n Bars re-opened on Tuesday evening.
What's new?
The Mairie has been busy finalising some of its projects. First, renovations of part of the deck and diving boards at Stade Nautique Rainier III swimming pool in the port should be finished for its reopening on Saturday.
Work on Condamine Market is also close to completion. The inside area is devoted to food and drink stalls, with spaces for shoppers to sit and consume what they've bought. Traders are selling Monegasque specialities, bakery products, sushi, fruit and soup, and are opening in the afternoons.
Finally, the website for the summer musical fireworks competition has been updated, making it easier for the public to vote for the most explosive entry (France, Czech Republic, Austria and England this year). Clicking on a large red button that says A Vous de Voter, allows you to award competitors marks out of 10.
What's in the diary...
Thursday: happy Brits, beautiful Latinos.
Friday: essential partying at Jimmy'z.
Saturday: a prickly start to the weekend.
Sunday: a friendly way to help those in need.
Coming up next week, flying the red flag and networking among stars.
For lots more suggestions, visit maBoum's 7 day listing and enjoy your weekend.
(1) This week's quote is the title of a series of magazine articles and a book by American writer Anita Loos, born this day in 1888. The work was later turned into a film and a musical.
