What's new?

Ni Tapas is to change its Spanish style formula at the end of July, so just for fun, we asked our Facebook friends what sort of restaurant they'd like to see in Monaco. Most votes so far have been cast for a new upmarket Indian restaurant, closely followed by requests for a Chinese. Let us know what type of cuisine you'd like to eat in the Principality.

Just about everyone in Monaco is getting excited about the Prince's wedding, with new deals and special offers being announced daily. If you didn't already know, the 1st and 2nd July are public holidays when you can use the buses without a ticket, several museums aren't charging for entry, and restaurants are featuring regional food on their menus. Look out for maBoum's own wedding suggestions in the coming days.

Featured event

Today and tomorrow, Monaco celebrates the Fete de Saint Jean. Since ancient times, people have marked summer solstice with fun and games, so when the Church fixed John the Baptist's birth date as 24th June, the tradition continued as a Christian feast day. Each year on 23rd June, there's a bonfire, music and dancing in front of the Prince's Palace. The following day the party moves to Place des Moulins. There's a procession with a little John the Baptist and his lamb, another bonfire, more entertainment by the Monegasque folk group Palladienne, and traditional food and drink.
